The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) enables customers to make cashless euro payments to anyone located anywhere in the euro area using only a single bank account and a single set of payment instruments.
SEPA completes the introduction of the euro as the single currency of the euro area. This in turn will help the economy to exploit the full benefits of the single market.
SEPA is an initiative of the EU banking industry. The ECB, the European Commission and other institutions play a supporting role
