Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is a molecule that conveys genetic information and catalyzes important biochemical reactions.

RNA is similar to DNA but containing ribose rather than deoxyribose. There are several classes of RNA molecules.

  • Messenger RNA (mRNA)
  • Transfer RNA (tRNA)
  • Ribosomal RNA (rRNA)
