Graphical user interfaces (GUI) accept input via devices such as computer keyboard and mouse and provide articulated graphical output on the computer monitor.
Today's major operating systems provide a GUI. Applications typically use the elements of the GUI that come with the operating system to provide user with the access to the pplication functionality.
Elements of a GUI include elements as: windows, menus, buttons, scroll bars, text boxs and labels, images, tables and others.
With the increasing use of multimedia, like sound, voice, video they become part of the GUI for many applications.
